E-Motorbike goes around the world
Starting from August 14th, 2016, a group of students from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands launched their electric motorbike to go around the world with their first stop in Munich, Germany and covering 17 more countries along the way. The e-motorbike “Storm” riders are followed by the support team for battery changes, and technical support.
The “special feature” that sets Storm apart from other electric vehicles, is its interchangeable batteries which is rather incredible.
In addition, the motorbike has 24 batteries, which can take the motorbike 380 kilometers. Furthermore, the batteries can be changed when they run out of power, and they can also be removed for better balance or handling when traveling along difficult paths.
Former Prime Minister and current durability ambassador Jan Peter Balkenende is proud of the students. “Of course, everyone is concerned with sustainability, but this is innovative”. “This can put the Netherlands on the map.”
