DAY 6 : THAILAND : CHIANG MAI (REST DAY)
(20/06/13) – THURSDAY
Average Speed: 0km/h
THAILAND: After five days of non-stop riding and travelling, we finally earned ourselves a well-deserved rest day. We got up at 8am to have breakfast and an hour later. Captain Adam invited the whole team to join the governor of Chiang Mai for a program. We had some discussions with the governor and proceeded with the ‘signing of the scroll’ ceremony. The presidents of the Chiang Mai hotels were very generous to invite the team to stay over at the Youth Hostel.
Soon after a hectic yet delightful morning, we headed to the hawker stalls near the Chiang Mai mosque to have our lunch. Around 2pm, we walked around town to shoot a video for our travel log.
The 1MWER team was invited to stay in the Hill Hotel but we had to wait for about 20 minutes because DAJ was late. Nevertheless. We reached the hotel safely and dined officially with the governor and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Chiang Mai Tourism, M Narongsakdi Kiboonya-Aragsa.
