Kawasaki R2 Details Revealed – New R2 is Most Likely the ZX-6R Replacement Model
Speed bike fanatics should be really excited because technical details of a Kawasaki R2 have been floating around. The info indicates that the Kawasaki R2 will potentially be the ageing ZX-6R’s replacement.
The ever so unique Kawasaki H2 and H2R super bikes are major influencers on the R2’s design. The influence aspects are seen with the supercharging system that the new 600cc bike will use, and the trellis frame structure that the R2 will adopt.
In the image above, you can see how the new R2 will be having an under seat exhaust instead of the side mount exhaust that the current ZX-6R uses. The trellis frame can be seen from the above image too.
The R2 will be smaller in size in comparison to the H2, thus it will utilise a smaller supercharger and air intake, both of which are seen in the illustration above. The air intake is packed under the belly of the fuel tank, with the tank extending under the seat so as to not lose too much fuel holding volume.
With Yamaha showing teasers of the new R6, there will be an exciting 600cc sport bike race from the manufacturers. We are curious to see what Honda, and Suzuki will have to offer to keep up with Yamaha and Kawasaki.
