Steampunk Style Jawa Powered Custom Sprint Motorcycle by Urban Motors
Ubran Motors creates a steam punk styled Jawa powered motorcycle to compete at Glemseck’s inaugural Essenza sprint race.
The Glemseck sprint race includes a design competition where a motorcycle will be awarded based on a motorcycle’s build and design. Within the competition there will be 16 teams competing, and the main conditions of participating are that motorcycles are limited to be no larger that 1200cc and have no more than two cylinders.
The steampunk sprint racer is using by a motor from a 1964 Jawa 350 producing a healthy 18 horses. Sadly this won’t be a winner in the sprint race, but the chances are really high for the design competition. There is a lot of emphasis on the motorbike’s design process and its focus on simplicity.
Everything is built from scratch around the Jawa 350 Engine to exemplify the focus on a minimalist original design. The 23 inch wheels on each end of the steampunk bike define its slimness, while a drum brake fitted to the back wheel is all what’s there to stop the bike. The slimness isn’t just in the design, but it trickles down the minimal 90kg that this bike weighs to help it with its riding performance.
