Yamaha Nuovo discontinued in Vietnam
With more than 14 years of presence in Vietnam, Nouvo remains to be one of the best – selling scooters in Vietnam, highly rated for its stable performance and fashionable design. When we’re pretty sure that the era of Nouvo would last for at least another decade, Yamaha doesn’t seem to share the same idea. The Japanese brand recently confirmed to discontinue this product line in Vietnam by the end of 2016. This is a surprising news for all Yamaha fans. Since its debut in 2002, there were more than 1,2 million Nouvo scooters sold in Vietnam. Despite being on the weak side in the competition against Honda Air Blade, the bike has become an irreplaceable symbol in motorcycle history.
Although it’s time to say good-bye to Nouvo, the end of Yamaha in the scooter game has yet to come. According to Paultan.org, Yamaha is going to unveil the next generation of scooter, also known as Nouvo’s descendant: NVX 150. The bike is believed to carry 155cc single – cylinder 15 HP Blue Core engine, taking after the previous Yamaha N-Max. The NVX is slated to slot in above the N-Max in terms of equipment and specifications. These include smart-key activation and a 5.8-inch LCD panel for the instruments. Stop-start is also part of the NVX’s specification.
One of the most impressive feature of the NVX 1500 is a 25-litre storage box under the seat, which will easily swallow a helmet and other riding gear. Rolling on 14-inch wheels, the NVX is expected to come near the 127 kg N-Max in terms of physical size, but with sharper, trendier styling. On the outside, the bike is available in Blue and White color. With its elegant look and convenient frame, NVX 150 is the best choice for Vietnamese lady rider. The expected price for the model is around 2091 USD (~ 47 million VND).
