Motorcycling legend Burt Munro has seeped into the world motorcycle culture for ages, especially the United States where he set his most famous record runs on a 1920 Indian which he campaigned and modified for more than 50 years. His iconic red streamliner is what harvested the success at Bonneville.

After fifty years, Indian motorcycle designed a 2017 Scout-based land-speed racer called the Spirit of Munro and went to California’s El Mirage Dry Lake with Burt’s first cousin’s grandson Lee Munro and set a record of 186.681 mph in the Southern California Timing Association MPS-G (Modified Partial Streamliner) 1350cc class.

The bike’s name was as such to honour the Indian Motorcycle’s glory in the industry. Not to mention, it is also to describe the effort of the team that developed the bike- led by Wayne Colden.

What a beauty, isn’t it?
