British biker sets Guinness World Record for solo ride
Great news for 24 year-old Kane Avellano, as he has officially became the youngest person to circumnavigate the world solo by motorcycle.
Avellano took a total of eight months (233 days to be exact) to complete 45,000km across six continents, including a total of 36 countries, just a day before his 24th birthday in January. His trusty Triumph Bonneville was his aid to success. He completed the trip alone and his name will be featured in the latest version of the Guinness World Records.
Not only did the young man set impressive records, he also raised funds for UNICEF, which is the world’s largest charity organization for children.
“The past eight months have been the most exciting in my life. I had the chance to discover what the world really has to offer, to meet many different people along the way and explore their cultures, religions and behaviours, while having an incredible time, “he said.
“This will be the first motorcycle circumnavigation to be verified by Guinness in 14 years and I’m really pleased it was done on my Triumph – it’s a bike I’ve shared lots of memories with and was the perfect bike for the job, albeit not your conventional adventure bike.”
