In case you missed out, Honda is prepared to launch its all-new 2018 Honda Gold Wing that comes equipped with a 7-inch LCD in the dashboard that comes with CarPlay.

According to the CNET, riders can connect their iPhone to the bike via a USB in the trunk or the storage cubby in the tank and then it can be accessed through the touch panel. However, to use the CarPlay, a Bluetooth headset is required.

The bike is much lighter than the older models and has a 1,800cc engine with a double-wishbone front suspension. Riders can also control the CarPlay through the left grip through the left grip or a rotary controller on the tank.

“Yes, you do have to connect a Bluetooth headset, a requirement mandated by Apple, one that is a bit frustrating since most CarPlay interactions don’t require voice,” as quoted from sources.

“Still, once enabled it works well, controlled either via four-way controller on the left grip or a central, rotary controller down on the tank — though frankly I can’t recommend reaching down to that while on the go. Still, having intelligent navigation and access to your media on the bike is great”

The CarPlay is available in more than 200 vehicles as of today and is also featured in some new semi-trucks from Volvo.
