We’re pretty sure that many owners of motorcycles out there have entertained the idea of customizing their two-wheeled steeds or, at the very least, have that thought cross their minds over an idle moment in time. Thing is, for every 100 that do, not every one of them actually manage to bring their fantasies to life for a variety of reasons.

From time constraints to financial obstacles, most owners never get to see their ideal motorcycle modifications come to life. Until now, that is. Or at least that’s what the good folks at Dab Design want you to believe. Recently, the company has unveiled its ER Kit for the BMW R nineT and with it, the firm hopes to attract owners of said model who fancy a look that’s a tad different to the regular R nineT.

The good news about Dab Design’s ER Kit for the BMW R nineT is that it requires no heavy-duty work to be carried out. The fibre glass kit requires no form of welding, CNC or metal shaping to be executed on the owner’s side of things. All one has to do is possess a decent set of tools, basic knowledge of wiring plus a quiet weekend and the results are striking enough to warrant the question, “Hey man, what is that?!”

For owners who are concerned about the kit affecting their motorcycle’s safety integrity, fret not. Dab Design is adamant that the kit does not in any way alter to structural aspect of the BMW R nineT or its performance and reliability. Such is the extent of it that even the warranty is left unaffected by the inclusion of the kit.

So, what does one actually get with the ER Kit? The list includes the fork head and support, mud guard, a rear cover, radiator scoops, rear side covers, E4-approved front lenticular lens and E4-approved LED daytime running lights. Owners of the BMW R nineT Pure and R nineT Racer, on the other hand, are required to work a tad bit harder to adapt the front mudguard with the ER Kit.

Lastly, owners with who aren’t too keen with the fibre glass construction of the ER Kit can also plonk for the same kit fashioned out of carbon fibre. The carbon kit features a transparent varnish for a more technical (and darker) look – gloss and matte varnishes are available. Those going for an even more left-field outlook can opt for the flax ER kit. The natural flax fibre construction recalls one of Dab Design’s earlier creations which itself was one of the first motorcycles made out of said material.
