Honda Motor Co. Malaysia has achieved a milestone by surpassing 5 million units in cumulative motorcycle production in Malaysia during its 60th year of business in Malaysia.

The achievement is no doubt impressive but Boon Siew Honda (BSH) has set a new target of 6 million units by 2023 in its statement at the ceremony in Batu Kawan, Penang. Honda’s business in Malaysia started in 1957 in Penang with the help of the respected Loh Boon Siew.

Not to mention, Boon Siew Honda was the first motorcycle marker in Malaysia to be given the certification of energy-efficient for one of its models. Thus far, five of Honda’s bikes have been certified as energy efficient.

According to Nobuhide Nagata, managing director of the joint venture, the firm intends to boost the ratio of low-fuel models meeting government standards to 81% of its total motorcycle output by 2020.
