Carlin Dunne and Ducati were back at Pikes Peak Hill Climb this year, for an attempt to reclaim a title that was theirs a few years ago. And the American rider of the Spider Grips Ducati Pikes Peak team, using a race spec Ducati Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak version, didn’t disappoint, winning the “Race to the Clouds” and retaking the title and honors of being the fastest rider at the mountain.

The course of the mountain is only in asphalt nowadays, but the 4720-foot climb is still a dangerous mission for those daredevils who attempt to race there.

Carlin Dunne was the first rider to ever reach the top with a time of under 10 minutes back in 2012, and this year he did it again by crossing the finish line with the best time of 9m59.102s, a getting the title back to the Italian manufacturer.

The other team member, Codie Vahsholtz, was also in good form and finished the hill climb in third position, showing that the new Multistrada Pikes Peak edition, with its Testastretta DVT engine and 1262 cc is a perfect match to this prestigious race.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
