Kymco to launch an electric superbike?

Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco published a video on Youtube, filmed during the World Superbike round at the circuit of Le Mans, where Kymco asks some race fans what they think about speed, energy and “what’s the motorbike of the future?”.

The answers vary, but all of them seem to point to an obvious motorcycle style: a superbike.

But not any kind of superbike!

What we believe Kymco is teasing is the arrival of something completely new to the Taiwanese brand, an electric superbike known as the SuperNEX. Although sources reveal it’s nothing but a concept, at least for now, this electrifying bike is set to be unveiled during EICMA Milan motorcycle show next week, and it will surely be an interesting moment when Kymco shows what they can do as far an electric superbike goes, since they’re known for creating practical scooters.

If the SuperNEX is indeed an electric superbike, it will have the Energica Ego as its main rival.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
