Remember when Harley-Davidson shocked us all with the reveal of three concept bikes, back in July 2018? Well, for months we haven’t heard anything about them, but Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich had already confirmed that they would arrive to dealerships by 2022, as part of Harley’s new programme “More Roads to Harley-Davidson”.

Now, these three concepts are back under our radar, with Harley-Davidson delivering to the proper European authorities the patent files for these bikes.

There will be three different models all based on the same platform: Streetfighter, Custom 1250, and for something completely different, the Pan America 1250. Besides the platform, all bikes will share the same goal, which is to bring new and younger customers to the Harley-Davidson family.

Although the bikes seen on these patent files are much the same as the concept bikes Harley revealed in July 2018, there’s still some changes to be noticed on all of them. The addition of what’s called the “saree guard” under the pillion seat, means Harley is probably thinking in bringing these bikes to countries like India. Other changes we can observe on the patent drawings show small differences on the bodywork, exhausts and other components, while Harley-Davidson hasn’t included any detailed information on parts like levers, brake calipers and even the V-twin engine.

Without much more information about the Streetfighter, the Custom 1250 and the revolutionary Pan America 1250, everything else is pure speculation. We will need to wait a few more months for Harley to tease the arrival of these bikes, probably not all at the same time, until we reach the 2022 date that Matt Levatich spoke about as the deadline.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
