At the German Grand Prix, Marc Marquez shows he is the “SachsenKing” winning for the 10th time in a row and escaping on the MotoGP title race.

At the start of the German Grand Prix we knew who was the favorite to win the MotoGP race. Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) was confident in making it a 10th win in a row. And during the MotoGP race, the Spaniard made sure to show us he is the “SachsenKing”.

Starting from “pole position”, Marc Marquez never lost the lead during the 30-lap race. Although he felt pressure from Alex Rins (Ecstar Suzuki) until the middle stage of the race, Marquez was in control. Fast lap times, no mistakes, and an impressive 66-degree lean angle. Marc Marquez and Honda were unbeatable during the German GP.

On a moment when he started to show a better rhythm, Alex Rins suffered another crash and another DNF. With this crash, the second spot was decided between Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha) and Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda).

Crutchlow tried all he could to pass Viñales, but the Yamaha rider was consistent with his lap pace and never let the door open for Crutchlow to get into the second position. On the final laps, the duo got a little closer to Marc Marquez, who was just controlling the situation. Crutchlow suffered a big slide on the final lap and Viñales was then free to cross the line in second, with the British rider crossing in third.

With this result, Marc Marquez now has a 58-point advantage over Andrea Dovizioso. The Spaniard and Honda rider are escaping in the title race, and the Italian from Mission Winnow Ducati doesn’t seem to have a way to get back into the title fight.

The World Championship is now on the usual Summer break. The riders will return to action on the Czech GP in Brno in three-weeks time.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
