The Malaysian Grand Prix has ended for all segments of the motorcycle racing championship and Alex Marquez has clinched the Moto2 world title at Sepang this weekend. Known for being the brother of 2019 MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez, Alex has proved his stellar performance under the Malaysian heat and older brother Marc thinks that Alex deserves his own unique status.
Alex Marquez made a name for himself after securing the 2019 Moto2 World Championship with a second-place finish in Malaysia. The Spaniard garnered a 28-point lead over Brad Binder of Ajo Motorsport just before the ultimate round in Valencia.

With an older brother like Marc Marquez, who has dominated the MotoGP world with impeccable results, Alex has long lived under the shadow of his brother rather than being known for his personal skillset. This time, Alex has managed to take on the limelight with his quality performance. Alex is currently a two-time world champion, courtesy of his 2019 victory and the earlier 2014 Moto3 world title. Marc has noted his joy in seeing his brother excel.
“I am so proud of my brother because it is very difficult to be the brother of [Marc Marquez],” Marc Marquez said as quoted from Crash.
“The pressure that he gets, he started in Moto2 with a not so good feeling but the team believed in him and in the end he arrived but it is not easy to be the brother of.”

Marc has also given some advice to Alex. He states that social media should be avoided in order to avoid being triggered by negative comments.
“Honestly speaking too, sometimes social media is good but sometimes it is hard. I said to him what I am doing. I said don’t check social media just keep pushing, keep going and believe in yourself,” he said.
“You are the same man that won the Moto3 world championship and the same man who won four races in a row. Today he did a champion’s race. He is not the brother of, he is Alex Marquez.”

Not to mention, Marquez came in runner-up in the Malaysian MotoGP this Sunday. “I was much better before the celebration of my brother. In the celebrations with my brother I gave everything and forgot about my knees and especially my right hand.”
“My brother gives me that extra motivation. I said I needed to finish on the podium and in a good way because tonight will be a long night!”
