iMotorbike is once again with more custom and concept motorcycles to satisfy your taste buds. This time, we will be taking a look at this custom Ducati 848 Evo by Austria’s NCT Motorcycles. The Austrian workshop managed to take this cafe machine up a notch to make it the ultimate racer.

NCT Motorcycles is situated in the Eastern Alps. During the summer, the roads are perfect for road bikes. David Widmann and his team have previously worked on a 1990s Ducati 750SS. The team once again did their magic and crafts on the 848 as a new touch to the decade with the same signature elements.

According to Pipeburn, the 848 has only limited success in racing. Despite that, the engine of the bike shares a huge range of parts with the dominant 1098 WSBK winning bikes. NCT stripped the bike back to a bare frame and begin working on the bike. Firstly, they dealt with the size of the subframe and decided to go for more of a cafe look.

NCT went for something out of the ordinary with this Ducati by incorporating a rich olive green to the colour scheme. Olive green is not a common hue seen associated with Ducati, unlike red. Despite that, the green gives a bike a rather vintage touch. It sits well with the leather and tweed seat.

“We think the colour is outstanding and fits really well with the overall look of this bullet,” said David as quoted from Pipeburn.

NCT then powder-coated the frame with a black gloss so that the bodywork would stand out more. The fuel tank remains the sole stock piece of the bike. The team then added a new tail section that was fabricated from aluminium in a traditional cafe racer style. Lastly, they used carbon fibre on the side covers, rear hugger and front guard. Overall the weight of the bike is reduced.

As for the performance of the bike, it comes with an advanced 848 engine that is able to churn out up to 140hp of horsepower. NCT also fitted the bike with sticky Pirelli Supercorsa SC2s. The lightweight alloy rims have been powder-coated black to e match the frame.
