Initially, back in January 2018, there were issues with the Brembo master cylinder, now there is a Brembo brake pad recall. The recall relates to the B4M10B compound and the amount of nickel utilized in the construction of the brake pad.
The nickel in the pad makes the pad compound becoming porous; by being able to allow moisture and humidity, it affects the performance of the brake pads. In addition, moisture can lead to corrosion which can separate the friction material from the mounting plate. Consequently, this could potentially cause catastrophic brake failures. According to sources, Brembo has already issued a global recall relating to this issue.
In spite of the situation, manufacturers who equipped these OEM brake pads are calling out affected customers to replace the brake pads from their dealerships. It all started with Ducati recalling the Ducati 1299 Superleggera (North America market), followed by Triumph calling out about 3,600 units (2018-2020 models) in the States.
Aside from his, there are no updates from FEMA from Europe or any other authorities from Asia and other regions. However, we will keep you posted with the latest updates regarding this issue.
