Triumph Trident
If you are a fan of Triumph, the name Trident might ring a bell. Back in the 60s and 70s, the Triumph Trident was one of the technically advanced short-lived roaster manufactured under Triumph Engineering and BSA for a couple of years.
Almost 45 years later, Triumph revealed the Trident design prototype back in August 2020 at the London Design Museum. The British automaker announced that the Trident project is a result of a 4-year development program developed by the Hinckley design team and engineers together with the additional input from the Italian designer, Rodolfo Frascoli.
Triumph also announced that the Trident would arrive in dealers early 2021 and would be a part of their Triple line up. In fact, according to sources; the Trident would be slotted just below the Street Twin lineup, making it the most affordable Triple model.
Following the design prototype, the Trident was spotted undergoing thorough testing in near-production form a few weeks back. According to the latest announcement from Triumph, the Triumph Trident is ready and they will officially unveil the all-new streetfighter on the 30th of October 2020.
Although Triumph hasn’t revealed any specifications, here are a few things we know about the incoming streetfighter. The Triumph Trident would be powered by a 660cc inline-three cylinder engine sourced from the Street Triple S. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the Trident would push around 95hp and 66Nm of peak torque (speculated). Aside from this, the Trident would feature similar suspension and braking components as well as matching electronic package offered in the Street Triple.
