On Friday, the MotoGP world championships resume with the Styrian GP, the first of two consecutive races at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg (Austria) that promise to be exciting in all three categories.

MotoGP is currently led by Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha) with 34 points over Johann Zarco (Pramac / Ducati), on a circuit that is especially favourable to Desmosedici. It is also the first race for Maverick Viñales after the announcement of the departure of Monster Energy Yamaha at the end of the season.

A year after making his MotoGP debut, Miguel Oliveira (Red Bull KTM) returns to the track where he won at Mugello and finished seventh in the championship before the break. The Styrian GP will feature Dani Pedrosa (wildcard on KTM) and Cal Crutchlow (replacing the injured Franco Morbidelli on Petronas Yamaha SRT).

Red Bull KTM Ajo has dominated the Moto2 season so far. In this comeback, Remy Gardner is leading by 30 points and will stay there after the GP in Styria; his colleague Ral Fernández is second at 31 points with a victory of 25. As for Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46), he is already 25 points behind Fernández, so there will be no change in order.

In Moto3, Pedro Acosta begins his debut season. With four victories in nine matches, it’ll be interesting to watch his comeback when he is 48 points ahead of Sergio García (GasGas Aspar).  Dennis Foggia (Leopard) quickly regained his form after the break, winning two and finishing third in four races to move into third place and reenter the race for the top spots.
