The sale of the Vespa 946 Christian Dior 155 scooter started earlier this year with limited units.

Reportedly, Vespa Vietnam has already brought in around 60 units of the special edition model, but only for the 125cc variant. Recently, another special variant landed in the neighbouring country, namely the Vespa 946 Christian Dior 155, imported from the United States (US).

A private distributor brought in the scooter without disclosing the selling price.

The imported model has some significant differences because it meets the standards set by the US authorities. All the turn signal lights are plug type and integrated into the body panel.

If observed, the front fender and rear body panel are pasted with reflectors from the original manufacturer in Italy which aims to meet the requirements of US sales regulations.

The identity of the scooter is also displayed on the headlight reflectors in the 946 display and the CD hook that depicts the shape of the Christian Dior logo.

In addition, the Vespa CBU also has unique patterns and stripes on the back of the front fender, front panel, side panel and saddle. The bottom part of the saddle uses fabric material with a Christian Dior motif.

The white scooter with gold accents is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine with 12.9hp and 12.8Nm torque. If compared to the Vietnamese version of the Vespa 946 Christian Dior 125, the power produced is only 11.4hp and the torque is 10.3Nm.

The US version of the Vespa 946 Christian Dior is sold at a price of US$22,000 (RM98,590). Interestingly, all 60 limited units brought in have been sold out.

The price of the same model as the Vietnamese version is 697.5 million VND (RM133,560). There are reports claiming that some parties took the opportunity to sell the limited edition 125cc scooter at a price as high as 2 billion VND (RM382,950).
