KTM has just launched its RC 8C 2023 with higher engine power, improved electronic package and reduced machine weight, including refining other features.

The model, which was first introduced last year, comes with an in-line twin-cylinder powertrain from the upgraded KTM 890 Duke R. It has titanium valves and a higher compression ratio. In addition to that, the engine also uses a two-ring piston to reduce friction, unlike the normal model with a three-ring piston. The connecting rod on the piston is also made of titanium.

The intake and exhaust ports, as well as the combustion chamber, are milled. The new airbox is said to provide a better mixture of air and petrol for a more cohesive throttle response.

Petrol goes through a 48mm throttle body, while the fuel pump increases pressure. This upgrade generates 135hp @ 11,000rpm and 98Nm @ 8,250rpm.

KTM engineers also improved the engine durability by increasing the strength of the clutch spring, removing the upper balancer, adjusting the balancer in the crankshaft box, and using a Pankl oil cooler.

The front and rear rims of the model are from Dymag. The front rim is wrapped in tires with a width of 120mm, while the size of the rear tire is 180mm. However, the rear tire size can be increased to 200mm for racing.

The bike still uses an Akrapovic titanium exhaust. It features WP Apex Pro 7543 fork-type suspension system with a closed cartridge (front), and WP Apex 7746 monoshock (rear).

The RC 8C 2023 has a dry weight of just 142kg, was developed with Krämer Motorcycles and can be raced in the GP2 British Championship series. KTM is reportedly only producing 200 of these models.
