The Terengganu Road Transport Department (JPJ) is providing free document replacement and renewal services to flood victims in the state.

Director of JPJ Terengganu, Zulkarnain Yasin, said that the free replacement would include the Malaysian driving license (LMM), motor vehicle license (LKM) and Vehicle Ownership Certificate (VOC).

He stated that the renewal and replacement can be made for damaged, lost or destroyed documents due to the extraordinary floods that hit the state.

“JPJ always helps victims affected by floods through the replacement and renewal program of driver’s licenses, motor vehicle licenses and vehicle ownership certificates for free.

“For damaged and lost documents, the owner must present the damaged original document at any JPJ counter in the state.

“For documents lost or destroyed due to flooding, the owner needs to submit a copy of the police report or a copy of the disaster victim registration form issued by the Social Welfare Department (JKM) or the district office.

“We will work with JKM to facilitate the affairs of flood victims if they do not submit copies of the required documents.

“There is no period for the flood victims to do so, but we advise them to apply as soon as they leave the Temporary Transfer Center (PPS),” he says.
