The demand for small and medium-capacity motorcycles is high in the Asian market, especially in Southeast Asia. As such, it is no surprise that many new models within this range are being pushed out as much as possible.

Most recently, Suzuki introduced the Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX in the Indonesian market with an official selling price of IDR59.5 million (RM17.7k). According to Suzuki Indonesia, the 250cc ‘adventure’ motorcycle comes in three optional colours, namely Champion Yellow, Pearl Blaze Orange and Glass Sparkle Black.

The V-Strom 250 SX is powered by a single-cylinder 250cc oil-cooled, SOCH 4-valve F1 engine. It is capable of producing 26hp at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm at 7,300rpm. Engine power is sent to the rear tires through a 6-speed transmission.

Interestingly, this V-Strom 250 SX also follows the design mould of the ‘big brother’ V-Strom 1050 XT.

The model comes with a telescopic front fork as well as front and rear brake discs. The seat height is capped at 835mm and the bike comes with a 205mm ground clearance.

At the same time, this model is also equipped with interesting electronic systems including Suzuki Ride Connect Edition with ‘Bluetooth’ function and Suzuki Easy Start System which makes it easier to start the engine.

Seeing that the V-Strom 250 SX has already been introduced in the Philippines and now Indonesia, many view this as a big sign that the bike will also be launched in Malaysia soon.
