Recuperated from a Sonora Rally crash, Sam Sunderland now aims to conquer Argentina’s Desafio Ruta 40 with renewed resolve. Spanning 2,804 km, this challenging event tests riders’ limits.

Starting in La Rioja and ending in Salta on September 1st, the rally offers a timed special stage of 1,555 km, where Sam and his competitors will push their skills and endurance.

Emerging resilient from his crash, Sam eyes Desafio Ruta 40 for confidence and momentum before the 2024 Dakar Rally. Riding the RX 450F, he plans to enhance his speed and prowess on the track.

Sam Sunderland acknowledges Sonora’s intimidation as his third unfinished event this season frustrating. He stays determined, sharing, “Checks in London revealed a broken kneecap, intact ligaments luckily.”

Focused on Desafio Ruta 40, Sam asserts, “In Argentina, I aim to finish. Past races weren’t as successful, but I’m here to race, not just explore.” Recalling past victories, he adds, “I won my first Dakar here, reliving those memories.”
