The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team has announced the departure of riders Hafizh Syahrin and Eric Granado after the conclusion of the 2023 Superbike World Championship season.

During the past two seasons, Malaysian rider Syahrin dedicated himself to enhancing the performance of the team’s CBR1000RR-R in collaboration with his technicians. He consistently earned points and achieved his best result, finishing twelfth at the Most round in 2022.

Despite the challenges faced in the current season, Syahrin remained resilient and gave his best effort on every occasion. Brazilian rider Granado joined the team in 2023, bringing a positive attitude and cheerful demeanour to the garage.

Similar to his teammate Hafizh, Eric worked collaboratively with his technicians throughout the season, honing his riding skills and gaining valuable experience in the production-derived series. He also made significant contributions to the team’s ongoing project.

“First of all, I want to extend my sincere thanks to both Hafizh and Eric for all the hard work and commitment they have shown since arriving in our garage. Both have remained stalwart and positive, and have undoubtedly made an important contribution to our project both this season. In Hafizh’s case, last season too. The PETRONAS MIE Racing Honda Team is very appreciative of both riders’ incredible efforts and wishes them all the very best for the future,” says Midori Moriwaki.
