Marquez aimed to safeguard Martin’s MotoGP title hopes, mindful of the potential impact on the championship standings.

Despite Martin’s struggles with rear tire issues, resulting in a 10th-place finish, Marquez, an eight-time world champion, noticed his rival’s difficulties.

Riding for Honda, Marquez realized that engaging in a fierce battle wouldn’t significantly change his own standing but could affect Martin’s championship aspirations.

“I followed Martin throughout the race. Initially, he was pulling hard, catching the group. But he started losing speed compared to other Ducatis,” He explained.

His decision to avoid escalating the competition stemmed from the understanding that the points gained “didn’t change [his] life,” and Martin could benefit in the title race.

As Martin grappled with traction problems, Marc took a strategic approach, steering clear of a battle that might harm both riders.

“I didn’t want a late battle with him,” emphasized Marquez, highlighting the broader perspective beyond the immediate race.

Despite finishing 11th in both Qatar races, He acknowledged facing challenges and opted for a conservative approach to ensure he crossed the finish line.

Reflecting on his performance, he admitted, “I couldn’t ride well this Sunday. I wasn’t at my best. I was strong on Saturday, but today I wasn’t, making my race calmer.”

Eyeing the upcoming Valencia race, the Honda rider prioritized finishing in Qatar to better prepare for his final Honda outing.

Despite challenges, Marquez’s strategic thinking and consideration for competitors add complexity to the dynamic MotoGP title race, highlighting the tactical aspects of high-stakes motorcycle racing.
