Four elite riders from Honda’s MXGP and WorldSBK teams took to the city for a unique and unprecedented experience. Titled ‘The Ultimate Ride,’ this extraordinary event was made possible by collaborating with lubricant manufacturer Motul. It showcased the power of partnerships to bring together fans, riders, and the broader biking community.
The stars of the show, including Tim Gajser, a five-time MXGP champion, MXGP race winner Ruben Fernandez, and WorldSBK riders Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, weaved through Jakarta’s streets. They rode alongside hundreds of fans, who were on a diverse array of motorbikes. This spectacle highlighted the prowess of these accomplished riders. It also emphasized the unity that the world of motorsports brings to biking enthusiasts.
The event marked a collaborative effort between Motul and the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) to strengthen their presence and celebrate their shared significance in Indonesia. Luthfi Ilhami, Managing Director of Motul Indonesia, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This was an extraordinary event. For the first time, Motul brought four HRC riders in WorldSBK and MXGP to ride with and meet and greet hundreds of Honda communities in Jakarta. It was an unforgettable experience for HRC and Motul fans.”
The event’s significance was emphasized by the backing of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Their support highlighted the event as both a celebration of motorsports and an initiative to promote local tourism, fostering the growth of the motorsport industry in Indonesia.
Carlo Savoca, Motul APAC Chief Marketing Officer, stressed the brand’s commitment to its bike fan community.

The presence of riders like Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, who joined Honda’s factory Superbike team last year, added an extra layer of excitement. Vierge’s podium finish in the Motul-sponsored Indonesian round of the championship this year endeared him to local fans. Tim Gajser, a four-time MXGP champion, and Ruben Fernandez, who secured his first race victory this season, added to the star-studded lineup, leaving an indelible mark on the enthusiastic crowd.
The event’s route spanned Central Jakarta, from the Thamrin 10 parking area to the Senayan Park shopping centre. Following the ride, fans had a unique chance to connect with their racing heroes during a meet and greet. This resulted in a flurry of social media posts and online videos capturing the electric atmosphere.
