DAY 13: LAOS: VANG VIENG ( REST DAY )
(27/06/13) – THURSDAY
It was a long day yesterday so we had yet another rest day to regain some energy in Vang Vieng. As usual, the team wakes up at 8am to have breakfast. The whole 1MWER team was present except for DAJ. We had a discussion about today’s planning which is to do a video shoot since today was a free day.
At 12pm, we started the video shoot while riding though the streets of Vang Vieng and on Off Road paths. Through the beautiful panorama and the beauty of the village streets, it reminded us of the memories that occurred 30 years ago in Malaysia. The city is indeed very beautiful and is surrounded by nature, especially the waterfall, which makes the place appeal as a eco-tourism destination. Even though Laos is a poor country that is slowly developing, it has undeniable competitiveness in attracting tourists, especially in Vang Vieng.
After 2 hours, we had our lunch in Nazim Restaurant. At 4pm, we each washed and cleaned our own motorcycles because they were full of mud stains. At 6pm, we continued the video shoot at the bridge which connected the village. When we were done, we went back to the hotel and continued washing our bikes and also the 4X4 support vehicle. Ironically, it was such a tiring day!
