DAY 16 (30/06/13) – SUNDAY
LUANG PRABANG – LUANG NAMTHA ( 320 KM )
Average Temp : 29ᵒC
Average Speed : 70 km/h
At 7am, we woke up and had breakfast together as usual and headed for our 8am briefing and prayers before flagging off. The roads were in fairly good condition and we got to see the village and the markets everywhere.
After 100km of journey, we stopped for refreshments at Pakmong. Right after that, we continued our way from Pakmong to Oudomxay. We went through Off Road for about 80km with 40km/h. It was quite slow! The roads were really dangerous and rocky.
At 2pm, we stopped to take a rest to rejuvenate our tired bodies and hit back the road. At 5pm, Alex Wong crashed and fell due to the greasy road, roughly 40km from Luang Namtha. He injured his foot.
We reached Dokchampa Hotel around 6pm and the support crew gave us a call saying their car ran out of petrol so they needed some help. The support crew only managed to join us at 8pm. They got help from one of the lorries that passed by them. When the clock struck 9, the team had so much fun cooking together. We can’t wait for tomorrow!
