German electric motorcycle firm NOVUS has just revealed its latest model at CES 2019 in Las Vegas. This luxury bike managed to garner a lot of attention with its innovative carbon fibre frames. Placed at the premium bracket, the bike has a price of $39,500, mirroring its top tier qualities.
The frame of the bike is perhaps the most attractive part of the bike. The carbon monocoque serves as the structural exoskeleton and the body of the bike. It is much lighter than steel, aluminium or any other exotic frame material.
The lithium ion battery is placed low on the bike to reduce the centre of gravity and improve handling of it. It is rated for 60 miles of range and can be recharged to 80% in 1 hour.
NOVUS hasn’t indicated how much travel its suspension fork is capable of but claims that it has “enough suspension travel to ensure a comfortable ride with precise response.”
The rear motor is a direct drive hub motor which produces 200Nm of torque, which makes it the top of the bikes in terms of torque. It delivers 14 kW of peak power and is capable of powering the bike up to a maximum speed of 60mph (97km/h).
