Attention! BMW of North America has recalled 29,281 motorcycles due to an equipment issue and the bikes include certain 2013-2017 F800R, F800GT and R1200GS models, 2014-2017 R1200GS Adventure models, 2016-2017 S1000XR models and 2015-2017 R1200R and R1200S models.

The issue here is that when the bikes were fitted with the optional luggage cases, the rear reflectors may have been blocked hence they do not comply with the standards of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108 that include lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment. The defects would raise the risk of crashing the bikes.
