Energica Ego crowned Electric Motorcycle of the Year

In case you missed out, the Energica Ego has earned the title of Electric Motorcycle of the Year at Motorcycle News.

Energica is said to be vast experience with Formula One racing and carbon fibre. Thus, as the subsidiary of CRP Group, it was of minimum expectation to see the firm creating an electric bike. Nonetheless, the Ego has definitely surpassed the expectations of many.

The firm’s headquarters is located in Modena, Italy and brought in Formula One racing and a number of qualified and experienced engineers to work on its electric bikes.

Despite the thrill for fueled and manual bikes, electric motorcycles have taken the industry by storm, proving that the electric segment is indeed a popular one. The Energica Ego certainly has put a stamp on it.

The Ego was the first production electric bike to lap in the famous 37¾-mile track and managed to finish with 17% battery left with a record of 100.47 mph. It comes with a weight of 617.29 lb (280kg).
