Lennon had passed away in 1980 at the age of 40 after being shot and killed his Manhattan apartment building. The bike was sold to Henry Graham in 1971 and then to John Harington, who is the current vendor. Harington has kept the bike for 47 years.

Naturally we are thrilled to be entrusted with the marketing and sale of this bike, given its extraordinary provenance,” said Mark Bryan, head of sales for the auction house’s motorcycle department.
