Veterans and first responders are definitely making the most out of their time as they are busy building motorcycles with the help of a non-profit organization, namely Motorcycle Missions.

U.S Military Veteran Austin has a passion for bikes and states that bike riding and fixing bikes was something he enjoyed doing.

“It was always a good way for me to really decompress and focus on something other than dealing with the stress of my military career or issues with my marriage,” Austin said.

His biker days were halted the moment he encountered a back injury but Austin was reluctant to sell his old bike, claiming sentimental values.

“For me it was about giving back and kind of reaching the same connection for other people that I had,” said Austin, suffering from PTSD.

“Something like this just takes those idle and destructive hands and puts them to work to make something that’s a tangible expression of what we can do,” said Marine Veteran Erik Sherman.

The mission of the organization is to make a bike to be featured in shows.

“We’re creating a family where motorcycles are our dinner table,” said Krystal Hess.

“We gather around them, we do good things with them we love working on them and we love riding them too.”
