The new SYM VF3i makes its world debut in Malaysia!

Taiwanese brand SYM has been working hard to reinforce its presence in the two-wheel market, and through the collaboration with MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd, who is the distributor for SYM in Malaysia, they’ve launched not one, but a total of three new models!

The first model is the VF3i.

This underbone, or “kapcai”, has the largest engine for its category. The liquid-cooled single cylinder reaches a displacement of 185 cc, and has four valves and a SOHC, and with these specifications the VF3i makes a total of 17.7 hp at 8500 rpm.

Getting the power from this Euro3 engine to the rear wheel there’s a 6-speed transmission.

SYM worked the aerodynamic of the VF3i designing sleek fairings that make it easy for this scooter to cut through the wind at higher speeds, while at the same time the rider can enjoy good protection from the wind, making it comfortable to ride over longer periods of riding. And precisely so that the rider doesn’t need to stop so many times while riding all day long, the VF3i has a big fuel tank, with 7 liters in capacity.

For those riders that want to feel the adrenaline of riding the SYM VF3i at a more aggressive pace, the Taiwanese brand focused on installing better chassis components, so the VF3i has telescopic front forks that allow the front wheel to travel 80 mm, while at the back a single shock absorber allows a wheel travel of 32 mm.

But the VF3i not only runs fast, but it also stops fast! The braking system includes brake discs both in front and back wheel, and SYM opted to use oversized discs with 250 mm and 200 mm sizes respectively.

With just 124 kg of weight, the VF3i should be fast and really fun to ride. Click here to see the VF3i in action!

As for equipment, the rider will enjoy the added safety from the new LED DRL lights at the front, while the rest of the lights are also in LED, with special attention to the rear lamp with a sporty design. Speaking of design, one final note to speak about the dashboard. It mixes analog and digital displays, and all the information is shown in an easy to read way.

Coming in Red, Blue or the special edition Matte Black, MForce announced that the price of the SYM VF3i is RM7988 for the standard versions while the special edition comes in at a price of RM8288. This prices exclude GST and other fees.
