Honda files patent for a tilting three-wheeler

The biggest motorcycle manufacturer in the world is all set to introduce a tilting three-wheeler in the market, and according to a set of patent drawings filed recently, Honda is really interested in getting this new model on the road as soon as possible.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen plans of a tilting three-wheeler from Honda, and the Japanese brand already showed a very cool concept called NeoWing.

According to our sources, Honda is giving priority to this special project, dedicating a special team inside its R&D department to it, and the new patent drawings show how advanced – and complicated! – this kind of three-wheel motorcycle can be.

The whole tilting mechanism and suspension system seems very complex, and not to mention that it does look very heavy. But Honda believes in it, and for sure they will want to fight Yamaha and its three-wheeled models like the Tricity and the new Niken.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
