MotoGP – Lin Jarvis answers to Marquez statements

Speaking to the press during the confirmation ceremony that Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo will be joining Yamaha Petronas SIC satellite team, Lin Jarvis, Yamaha Racing director, told that he didn’t block the name “Marquez” inside any Yamaha team.

Jarvis answered to Marc Marquez statements made to Italian news channel Sky Sport, where the MotoGP champion told in an interview that made the headlines all over the world, that Jarvis doesn’t want a rider with a Marquez surname riding for Yamaha.

Also speaking to Sky Sport, Lin Jarvis took the opportunity to clarify what happened for Alex Marquez not to be the chosen rider to partner with Franco Morbidelli

“I’ve never talked to Mark, it’s clear that are other riders who could be chosen for this project (Yamaha Petronas SIC), and in my opinion even Marc himself has admitted that is not ready for MotoGP, that he isn’t so strong that he can be the number 1 choice. In addition, having his brother in Yamaha while he is racing in Honda, a team that is our main rival, that would be strange…”.
