Presque Isle State Park to enforce speed limits with silent motorcycles

Some people aim to make their presence known to the crowd with their motorcycle but some just wish to blend in and go unnoticed. Well, the staff at Presque Isle State Park has an objective to let people have fun while ensuring their safety.

The Presque Isle State Park’s latest safety equipment is what makes that happen. Through green initiative money, they have come up with a motorcycle that people will never hear coming. It comes close to a stealth motorcycle.

“It’s a Zero motorcycle, it’s 100 percent electric, it emits no emissions and no sounds so it’s 100 percent environmentally friendly.  It is fast; fun to ride”, said Terry Czerwinski, Park Ranger for Presque Isle State Park.  The machine reponds quickly to emergencies in all corners of the park and comes with a big push this year to enforce the park’s 25 mile-per-hour speed limit.

Czerwinski notes that its “primary use will be patrol, speed enforcement, and responding to the park during busy times when you might not be able to get a normal patrol vehicle thru heavy traffic”.
