Besides attracting a lot of attentions wherever it goes, including the 45th Tokyo Motor Show in 2017 when it was revealed to the public, the Yamaha MOTOROiD has also conquered many awards, and this time Yamaha announces that the radical motorcycle got the Global IF Design Award.

The futuristic and radical concept MOTOROiD was created by the Japanese manufacturer as a way to show us how mobility might interact and connect to human beings. Using an advanced and extremely precise balance system, with the help of artificial intelligence, the MOTOROiD is able to stand upright without the rider input. That same artificial intelligence also allows the bike to recognize and interact with its owner in many different ways.

Yamaha engineers have kept the bike with its development scars which we can see on the small side fairings, and even the special Bridgestone tyres show what they suffered while the MOTOROiD was being used for developing the artificial intelligence.

With the Global IF Design Award this year, the MOTOROiD has already won all three major design awards in the world, including the Gold award at the International Design Excellence Awards, and last year the Luminary award at Red Dot Design Concept.

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
