MotoGP – Lorenzo’s father hits back at Marc Marquez aggressive style

It’s been more than three weeks now since the Aragon race, but Jorge Lorenzo’s crash at the first corner of the Motorland Aragon circuit is still in the heads of many fans. Jorge Lorenzo was the first to accuse Marc Marquez of being too aggressive, causing his crash, and more recently it was his father, Jose Manuel Lorenzo, who spoke about this subject in an interview for Spanish radio Onda Cero.

For Jose Lorenzo, Marc Marquez riding style needs to be penalized by Race Direction, and gave the example of what happened in Sepang 2015, when Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez were involved in the most talked about race incident of recent years

“He has no respect for his rivals. At stake is life and the proof is that my son finds himself with broken bones. If Marquez had gone for his trajectory, Jorge would have finished the race and now he was fine… He irritated Valentino throughout the race (in Malaysia), instead of running his own, until Rossi exploded. It was not a kick. Valentino did not even look at him, he pushed him away with his knee”, says Jose Lorenzo.

Lorenzo’s father then gave his view on what Race Direction should do to Marquez, and went even further by saying he believes that Marquez entourage was happy for what happened with his son in Aragon, including the injuries

“I am sure that in their environment they were happy with his fall and that he was hurt. Marquez said he would take the corner the same way, and I do not understand how Race Direction cannot intervene on the issue”.

Next season Jorge Lorenzo and Marquez will be teammates at Repsol Honda, and from the looks of it, the relation between Lorenzo’s clan and Marquez clan won’t be easy!
