Back in October last year, we gave you the news that a development version of the new F850 XR was spotted on British roads, but since then, and rather surprisingly, BMW Motorrad was able to keep the final stages of development under secret, and also the new F850 RS and R variants, and we haven’t heard anything else about this mid-sized bikes based on the 9Cento concept bike revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Italy.

Well, the German manufacturer might have just slipped, and the new F850 RS is being announced – and confirmed! – by the small prints on the back of an official BMW Motorrad marketing flyer.

We were expecting BMW Motorrad to bring the F850 RS to EICMA Milan motorcycle show last November, but the bike was nowhere to be seen at the Italian event. Now sources say that the F850 RS, along with two other variants based on the same platform, the F850 R and F850 XR, will be officially revealed during next Fall, available on dealerships before the end of the year.

This is another proof that we should always read the small prints!

With more than ten years as a motorcycle journalist, i enjoy everything that has to do with two-wheels. I'm a fan of sport bikes and i prefer riding them on a racetrack, but give me a road filled with corners and good asphalt and i'll be there to have some fun!
