The World Championship adopts new sporting and technical rules for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 classes.

Although for the last couple of years the World Championship rules remained mostly unchanged, giving the championship a sense of stability, there’s always the need for improvement.

From a meeting held in Austria’s Red Bull Ring circuit, the Grand Prix Commission announced a new set of technical and sporting rules.

Sporting Regulations
Black Flag with Orange Disk : Riders who are required to leave the track by display of this flag must be authorized by an official to re-join the track. This rule is effective immediately.
Jumpstarts: The fixed penalty for a jump start is changed from a pit lane ride through to the obligation to perform two “long laps”. The long laps must be completed within five laps of the rider being notified of the penalty.
