The CBR1000 RR-R Fireblade SP features a completely new1000cc inline four-cylinder engine. The engine designed and developed by HRC MotoGP development program is capable of producing 159kW peak power at 14,500rpm while 112.7Nm peak torque at 12,500 rpm.

As seen at the launch, the CBR1000 RR-R SP features 2nd Generation semi-active Öhlins Electronic Control and ÖHLINS TTX36 Smart-EC shock. To improve the stability and bump absorption at high speeds, The 43mm Öhlins NPX fork with pressurised damping system which minimises cavitation dramatically helps to achieve these goals.

The exhaust valve designed by Akrapovic significantly delivers power at high rpm and torque at low-ends. Also, the lightweight titanium exhaust end-can developed with Akropovic partnership substantially improves the mass centralisation and right-side lean angle of the motorcycle.

In the case of the braking system, the bike features a New Brembo Stylema four-piston radial-mount brake callipers. Larger 330mm discs with 5mm disc thickness dissipate heat more efficiently. As for the rear brake calliper, the bike features the same Brembo unit from the RC213V-S. Functions such as Rear lift control and ABS controlled brakes work relative to lean angle.

On top of this, there is a Sport and Track mode to cater to the needs of the rider. Furthermore, the 5-inch colour TFT screen, as seen at the launch provides intuitive control of the riding systems on the motorcycle. These are some of the features on the 2020 CBR1000 RR-R SP among many others.

These modes include Tour, Sport, Econ and Rain.
