Damon Motorcycles announces a limited run of new Hypersport Premier Motorcycles to address the preorder backlog. On top of this, Damon acquires Mission Motors IP portfolio to accelerate the development.

The Vancouver-based firm, Damon Motorcycles unveiled their flagship Hypersport motorcycle at CES 2020 just a few months back. Since it’s launch, the Hypersport took the internet by storm.  If you are into motorcycles and Artificial intelligence, this is the bike for you!

Before the launch of the Hypersport electric motorcycle had previously focused on creating digital safety technology to augment two-wheelers. However, Damon Motorcycles now produce one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles ever made. The Damon Hypersport is the World’s First transforming electric motorcycle with 360º situational awareness.

The Hypersport enables riders to electronically shift the motorcycle’s windscreen, seat, footpegs and handlebars on the fly. Which allows the bike to accommodate for different positions and conditions.

On top of this, Damon’s  360-degree radar assisted CoPilot system. Which uses sensors, radar and cameras to detect and track moving objects around the motorcycle. This safety feature, in turn, alerts the riders on blind spots and obstacles.

Damon Motorcycles Captures Elusive Millennial Market

Damon Motorcycles proudly announced that they ushering in a new era of motorcycling for the next-generation of riders. Specifically the elusive millennial market. As claimed, the company has pre-sold several hundred Hypersport HS and Premier models to millennials. Who make up half of the company’s preorders. Furthermore, the company has also raised an additional $3M in funding. Also, acquired the IP portfolio of Mission Motors. They announced limited preorder availability of two new Hypersport Premier motorcycles: Arctic Sun and Midnight Sun.

Damon Acquires Mission Motors IP portfolio

In order to accelerate development, Damon recently acquired the IP portfolio of Mission Motors. Mission Motors is the developer of high-density EV powertrains. This includes Mission Motors’ PM200 electric motor, Mission Inverter and also the Skyline Telematics.

The acquisition provides Damon with proven, cutting-edge technology. Which shattered the AMA electric land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats. On top of this, set records at Laguna Seca in 2011; the 1/4 mile drag strip at Sonoma Raceway in 2012! Also, at the Isle of Mann TT Zero race in 2014.

“The purchase of the Mission Motors IP will add to Damon’s capability. To build the highest performance drive trains in motorcycling,” said Derek Dorresteyn, COO, Damon Motorcycles. “Mission Motors was a technical leader and we are happy that some of that competitive DNA have passed into the Damon Hypersport. We intend to improve upon it considerably to take motorcycling into an entirely new level of performance. ”

Damon’s Future Plan

 Damon is now entering advanced development and test validation phase of its full-stack electric vehicle and cloud computing platform. With an embedded 4G connection, road and traffic data collected from each Hypersport will allow the company to remotely update the onboard computers. Which further Increases the motorcycle’s ability to detect vehicles with every mile ridden. Also, the company aims to be production-ready late next year.
