Kawasaki Indonesia launches the much anticipated Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R. Here are the official specs, details and pricing of the ZX-25R / ZX 25R!

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R

First unveiled during 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R / ZX 25R was scheduled to be launched earlier in April. However, because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Kawasaki Indonesia had to postpone the launch. Although we had to wait for a while, in the meantime we got some sneak peeks of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R through Kawasaki Indonesia’s “Teaser videos” on youtube. Other than this, Kawasaki Motor Japan also showed off the racer custom model earlier in March just before the launch postponement was announced. Moving on, last month we told you guys about Kawasaki Newzealand announcing the availability of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R for the Newzealand market and the details of the official launch.

The wait is over, the Kawasaki Indonesia finally pulled the cover off the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R last Friday just as we reported. Been waiting for too long? Here is everything you need to know about Kawasaki’s latest screaming inline-four monster!

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R Specs and Details

Prior to this official launch there we no actual detail or power figures available for the ZX-25R; however, this official launch changes everything! To being with, there are two variants of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R; the base ZX-25R and the higher-spec  ZX-25R ABS SE (Special edition). Both the variants come with a liquid-cooled, DOHC 249.8 cc inline-4 engine. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R puts out 37.5 kW/50.28 hp at 15,500 rpm (with ran air intake) and 22.9 Nm of peak torque at 14,500 rpm.

In the case of suspension; 37mm Showa SFF-BP inverted fork at the front and link-type mono-shock with preload adjustability take care of the business. Braking duties are done with the help of four-piston calliper and 310mm disc up front and a single-piston calliper with 220 mm disc at the rear.

So what’s the difference between the high spec ZX-25R SE ABS and the base ZX-25R? Well, it’s all in the electronic package. Both the ZX-25R variants come in with KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), power models and AS (assist and slipper clutch). However, unlike the base model, the high spec ZX-25R SE ABS gets ABS and KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) as an addition.

Colour options, Price and Availability

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R Colour Options

The base spec Kawasaki ZX-25R comes only in black. On the other hand, the ZX-25R SE ABS comes with three colour options to choose from; Black, Green and Blue. Note: Although both the models come in black, the livery/ colour combo on the base spec and SE are different. As for the pricing; the standard Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is priced at IDR 96,000,000 / 6633 USD / MYR 28,374 in Indonesia. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R SE ABS, on the other hand, is priced at IDR 112,900,000 /7,801 USD/MYR 33,369.

Besides Japan and Indonesia, we know the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is entering NewZealand. Given that’s the case; the chances of the ZX-25R coming to Malaysia doesn’t actually seem like a dream but well, it’s all up to Kawasaki to decide.
