iM Cubaholic EP.19: Custom Honda Super Cub with air suspension!

Check out this custom Honda Super Cub build with an air suspension system! Have you ever seen anything like this before?

In case you are new, iMotorbike’s weekly iM Cubaholic series covers everything about the iconic Honda Cubs. The Cub is one of the most important bikes in both the motorcycle and Honda’s history. Honda changed the way people look at riding motorcycles with the introduction of the Super cub and the ad campaign “You meet the nicest people on a Honda” back in the 1950s. Since then, Honda has sold over 100 million Cubs with a large Cub lineup/variants where some models are barely known. In this series, we cover everything from both known and unknown Cub models to their; history, specs, features and many more. Are you a Cub addict? well, this is something you wouldn’t want to miss!

This week we are back with another insane custom Honda Super Cub build. Last week we showcased the “Short” Honda Super Cub with two engines and for this week, we have here is a custom Honda Super Cub with air suspension. – No, we are not kidding!

Hellaflush Honda Super Cub

We usually feature custom builds frequently, but we noticed you guys tend to like quirky custom build so we decided to feature this. So to begin with, this custom build has never been featured anywhere so the details of this build are very limited. However, as usual, we will try to sniff around and give you guys a brief idea of this build.

To start off, judging from the look of the bike, every single plastic parts such as mudguards and other plastic side covers have been removed. We don’t know which genius built this but whoever it is, he/she has put a tonne of time into this custom build. To begin with the front, the stock handlebar alongside the instrument cluster and headlamp covers have been replaced by aftermarket parts. The same thing has been done to the rear too, the stock seats and mudguards have been replaced by a custom made leather single seat and a “flared” mudguard? – Looks like a swan for some reason.

Well, jokes aside, everything in this project has been built with functionality in mind. Yes, we are referring to the air suspension. We are not quite sure which air suspension system the build is using but it looks like a custom retrofitted air suspension unit.

Which means they got rid of the stock Honda Super Cub’s shocks and kitted the bike with air suspension shocks at the front and rear. Although there is so much going on, the builder has done a tremendous job in keeping this build clean and simple.  We love how the air tank tucks in nicely on the side to give it a sleeker profile that blends in with the overall theme.

Speaking of tasteful features, the wheels have been replaced with aftermarket wheels with fat rubbers which give the bike more of a muscle look.  Wondering how they managed to do this? Well, we are guessing a decent amount of work has been done to modify the front fork and rear swingarm to retrofit these beefy tyres. – and again, CLEAN!

To go hand in hand with the overall theme, the builder has added in dual rear lamps with a custom license plate mount linked directly-  this indeed complements the “hellaflush-ness” of the bike. Other than this, the stock exhaust has been replaced with a custom exhaust setup with one massive muffle and two small straight pipes. In the case of the engine, we do not have any details but looking at the build, it looks like our friend has done some tweaking there too. Overall, we love how the whole build has been executed.

Do you know the owner of this bike? If you do, feel free to drop us an email! We would love to know more about this build. Have something cool? Show us to feature your bike next!
