Honda has stopped taking new orders for 10 motorcycle models in an effort to reduce the backlog it is currently experiencing.

The matter was confirmed by Honda in a statement which informed that they stopped taking orders for 10 models starting August 1.

Models affected by the announcement include the Rebel 1100, Rebel 500, Rebel 250, CRF250 Rally, CRF250L, Forza, ADV 150, MSX125, Monkey 125, CT125 and Hunter Cub.

According to Honda, one of the main factors that forced the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer to take the drastic decision was due to the current ‘semiconductor’ problem which had an impact on logistics.

This means that countries that import Honda motorcycles from Japan have to wait longer to get their respective motorcycles.

We contacted Boon Siew Honda and were informed that the announcement does not affect the models marketed in Malaysia as the CBU models such as the Rebel 500, and CRF250 Rally, sold here are assembled in Thailand.

CKD models, such as the ADV150, are assembled in Penang.
