When the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello made its debut last year, the ‘sport cruiser’ segment motorcycle received soaring praise.

This model is iconic due to it carrying the legendary Moto Guzzi name in stepping into the 21st century. The iconic V100 Mandello is the first-ever motorcycle by Moto Guzzi that features modern and high-tech features. Such features include a semi-active suspension system, 6-axis IMU, cornering ABS and ‘quickshifter’.

Not only that, but the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello also has body panels on the right and left sides of the tank that will open by themselves to produce more efficient downforce. According to Moto Guzzi, the technology is called ‘adaptive aerodynamics’.

Recently, there are speculations that premium and high-tech motorcycles will finally be making their entry into Malaysia this year. Although the company has yet to announce the exact date, we can expect the model to arrive between the Second Quarter and the Third Quarter.

For the record, Didi Group is the official distributor of the Moto Guzzi brand in Malaysia apart from Aprilia, Vespa, Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield and most recently, Triumph Motorcycles.

The Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello features a 1,042cc ‘transverse’ V-Twin engine capable of producing 115hp and 105Nm at 3,500rpm. Despite having a larger displacement than the platform used in the V85 TT, the V100 Mandello engine is 103mm shorter.

Information on the price of the motorcycle is also scarce. In the United States, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello comes in two variants, Standard and ‘S’. Both models are available at USD15,490 (RM69k) and USD17,490 (RM79k).
