MotoGP makes its return to the iconic Circuito de Jerez for the 4th round of the 2023 MotoGP season. Events lined up for this week include the fourth round of Moto3 and the second round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Three Malaysian riders will be representing the Jalur Gemilang on the Spanish track this weekend, namely Syarifuddin Azman (Damok), Danial Syahmi and Hakim Danish.

“I can’t wait to get back on the bike, this Jerez circuit is my favourite and I’m quite fast on this circuit and I hope I can continue to improve with my team and get good results here,” said Damok, who will be taking on the Moto3 race under MT Helmets – Msi.

As for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup contenders, Danial and Hakim both are confident in their preparation ahead of the race in Jerez.

“Preparations for the race at the Jerez circuit have already been carried out last week. I just finished the “Winter Camp” and just a few days ago I underwent a test at the Estoril circuit for the JuniorGP I think this is good because my time on the bike is longer and I am more prepared ahead of this RBRC second round race. My target this week is to fight in the front group and give my best,” Danial states.

“This circuit is quite my favourite because last year I managed to finish the race in the top 10 positions and I hope for everyone’s support and prayers for me for races 3 and 4 in Jerez.”

As for Hakim, he states that “I’m back racing for the second round of the Red Bull Rookies Cup. I have raced at this circuit in the European Talent Cup and this time is a little different because it is with a new machine for the Rookies Cup.”

“I need to quickly adapt and adjust to the bike in this circuit and my target is to compete in the front group. I need to work hard in the two training sessions here and for the qualifying session, I want to qualify in the front row and will compete in the front group during the race. Wish me and the other Malaysian riders success for this round.”
