The Spanish Grand Prix went underway during the weekend and the Malaysian duo admits that they could have produced better results on the Circuito de Jerez.

Syarifuddin Azman, better known as Damok, will be starting from the back of the grid due to a penalty. The Moto3 rider concedes that he made a mistake on track and as a result, was penalized for it.

“The 3rd practice session and qualifying went well. Today was not the best day for me. In the qualifying session, I made a mistake and I was penalized. I should have started in 25th place but because of that penalty I will start at the back of the grid and I will take the “Long Lap Penalty” during the race,” states the MT-Helmets rider.

“I apologize to the team and everyone for this. I will try my best for tomorrow and try to compete for points. Thanks to everyone who supported me and keep supporting Malaysian riders who compete.”

As for Hakim Danish, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup contender ended the race in 9th place after starting from 16th.

“Finished the first race and I managed to get 9th place, I tried to compete in the front group but there were some mistakes I made in some corners. I finished the race in 8th place but dropped one position because I exceeded the track limit. I will try to not repeat my mistakes and come back better for tomorrow’s race. Thank you to everyone who prayed for me and the other Malaysian riders.”
